Life has a way of balancing things.

Life has a way of balancing things.


Some times, certain incidents happen that change your life completely. Incidents that will shock you and throw you off balance. Incidents caused by people who would have seemed so innocent, so lovable, so trust-worthy and so dependable when you first met them. At that time, you may have let your guard down and invested a lot of time, priority, love and care on them. You may have sacrificed many things in your life to accommodate them, their requirements and expectations. You may have kept giving money every single time they said they were broke, without keeping count. You may have been there to comfort and console them during all the difficult times in their personal lives. When you yourself are struggling in a challenging career, you may have carried them along on your shoulder while pitching for opportunities. You may have put up with their untoward behaviour in many situations and may have gone through humiliation in front of your family, friends and co-workers. You may have forgiven all their unmentionable heinous actions and mistakes because you valued the relationship more than your own feelings.


And after many years of offering more than anyone in your position can genuinely offer, comes a time when these people unveil their mask and reveal their ungrateful, selfish, true self. Only then, it will dawn on you... that these people have found new resources and 'contributors' for a better life... like 'migratory locusts' which hop onto another feeding ground once they have consumed the previous one. You can do nothing about it. Don't even try. If you do, they will taint you with false accusations and blame that you were responsible for every bad thing. The same people who once worshiped you as a Saviour Angel will demean your worth and dismiss everything you have done for them. But never try to take things into your own hands... cause whatever efforts you take to unmask them, will fail. They will masquerade as a victim and emotionally lie their way out of the mess. The new Saviour Angels that they currently worship will eventually fall for their complete submission and believe whatever they are led to believe. That's nothing new. Heck, the same tactic worked with you before, right?


All that aside, imagine the grief during the DEATH of someone very very close to you... now multiply that five hundred times. That's the grief of BETRAYAL caused by someone very very close to you. The pain is like a knife stab in the heart and another one in your back. It is not easy for you to snap out of it just like that. It will also become extremely difficult for you to trust anyone else. The wound may take several years to heal... maybe never.


Meanwhile the people who manipulated you and betrayed your trust,  may seem to be living a 'happy' life. They will unnaturally gloat and flaunt their newly-found happiness to everyone they know. This may make you wonder 'Is there no justice in this world?... why do people who did good things suffer while deceitful people seem to prosper?'.


Wait.... Because there is no such thing as instant. It always takes time... years even. Like a boomerang, it will come back when they least expect. And when it hits, it hits real hard... and during that time, those people will realize that their suffering is because they once had wronged you the same way.
